Music Ministry

***NEW*** St. Thomas Schola Cantorum
A new chorus for more experienced singers is being formed here at St. Martin's. It is named in honor of St. Thomas Aquinas, who wrote such beautiful texts as the Pange Lingua and Panis Angelicus. The schola cantorum meets weekly to read and learn works of classical sacred music, from chant to Palestrina to Verdi, and sings for special occasions.  Practices are from 7:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesdays in the Church (during Lent we're meeting in the School Music Room).  Singers are welcome to call Mario at 301.907.9801 for more info or to schedule an audition.

St. Martin's Choir:

Sings a mixture of classical, contemporary, and gospel songs. Seeking singers and instrumentalists.

All ages welcome to audition. Sings at 10:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday. Weekly rehearsals on Wednesday at 8:00 pm-9:30 p.m. in the Church (during Lent we're meeting in the School Music Room). For more info or to join, please call Mario at 301.907.9801 or email the music ministry.

Joyful Noise:

For a fun time singing God's praise, consider Joyful Noise, a guitar-based group that sings contemporary praise music! We sing every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Mass and practice on Thursdays at 8:00 pm in the Pre-K Room of the School. Please contact Luz Cutler at 301.208.0525 for more information.

Youth Music Program (YMP):

Attention youth who are excited about Jesus! We want you! Find out how you can get involved in praising God through music, song, and spirited worship! Students in grades 3-12 are welcome.  We sing Saturdays at the 5:30 p.m. vigil Mass. Please contact Mario at 301.907.9801 or email us at the music ministry.

Instruments of Peace:

We are a guitar based group and are open to other instruments and welcome all singers.

We sing on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Mass and rehearse on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Pre-K Room of the school. Contact Mary Eustice at 301.977.3911 for more information.

Cantors:

Cantors are needed to lead the congregation in singing at the 8:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday and on holydays and special occasions.
